Cheap construction - died after one ride - AVOID

Took a RoadWarrior 3 to India for road work to scan receipts for expense reports and the occasional multi-page document. It worked sometimes but was inconsistent and shaky. Spent a lot of time scanning. When you come back from a trip, try again and find that the very thin (cheap) ribbon cable connecting the top half (white part) of the scanning unit has broken, causing the unit to fail completely. Wanted to like this product as the weight and size are good but the reliability and quality are…

Pros
  • Done

Visioneer and Paperport should be able to handle Windows 7!

This is Visioneer's 5th purchase in the last 10-12 years. Good products! The flash on my latest wearable Visioneer finally stopped working after literally thousands of perfect scans. (Lasts a lot longer than I thought it would, considering I had it most of the time when I was a street fighter and had to fight a lot!) I've always liked the Paperport software that came with it, as it's a lot more reliable than the Scan that comes with it app with Windows 7/8 etc. Even if you follow the…

Visioneer continues to perform well on mobile products

We have previously had a Visioneer Road Warrior document scanner and have been very pleased with its performance. Based on our history with the product line, we ordered the RW3-WU. It's even better than its predecessor. It automatically straightens what you've scanned. Scanned documents are simply saved as PDF. The setup and usage instructions are pretty easy to understand. The scanner comes with a storage bag and a cleaning cloth.

  • Builds confidence
Cons
  • Some issues

before the purchase. - Scanner

The physical device itself is very impressive in terms of scanning speed and quality, especially given its compactness and lightness. However, it's important to note that the manufacturer's software that comes with this device is absolute rubbish. Don't install it unless you have absolutely no choice. It's clumsy and not intuitive at all. I would definitely recommend this scanner to someone else, but first I would make sure it has other software.

Pros
  • There's Something Inside
Cons
  • Big and Chunky

Useless scanners and supplies

I thought I could quickly scan documents with a portable scanner. This Visioneer RoadWarrior 3 just doesn't work most of the time. It works the first time, but later when I plug in the USB cable, it mostly says "scanner not found" and the computer never finds it. Supposedly Visioneer updated their software to communicate better with Windows 8, but it doesn't work and I've given up on those mobile scanners. It's useless if the computer can't find it.

Pros
  • Great for me

Not disassembled very well

Typical of Visioneer products (in my opinion) this one has issues that the manufacturer doesn't seem interested in fixing. The manufacturer seems to have made little effort to fix problems between hardware and software. Both should work fine with this type of peripheral. Road Warrior and the included software do not. Of extreme concern is the fact that scans of smaller items are cropped (i.e., automatically cropped) at critical points – such as items). The included software is bloated and…

I've been working with Visioneeer products for a long many years. I would still use my Storm PageScan USB scanner except there are no drivers for it other than Win7. I had the original RoadWarrior scanner and it was very good, but again the Visioneer didn't update the drivers on Win10 and I couldn't use it anymore. Now with RoadWarrior 3 I can use the scanner with Win10. Like its predecessors, it's very small, lightweight, and does the job you'd expect from a travel-ready scanner. However, I…
