💳 Windows Medical Insurance and ID Card Scanner with Scan-ID LITE Review

This is the second BizCard reader I've bought for my office. We are very busy, scanning over 80 cards daily between insurance cards and photo IDs. The first scanner lasted over 3 years and died due to operator error, NOT equipment failure. It's fast and scans with great clarity.

I have a real estate agency. I use an ID scanner when prospective tenants check keys to view properties. I used to make copies that were often dark or unreadable. The scanner works great, fast and easy. Set up was also very easy. In just a minute or two I was ready to go. I think it will suit my needs perfectly. The description was exactly what I received.

I bought this card reader to speed up the process of entering insurance cards into our program. What used to take 5 minutes now takes 20 seconds! The only issue I had with setup was the calibration which turned out to be a conflict with 3rd party software but once that was fixed it worked great and we are very happy with the ease of use!

We have been using this scanner in our clinic for 3 years and it has been a workhorse. It recently stopped working and we contacted support and they responded very quickly. The product is out of warranty, but they offered to exchange the card reader for a new one at a reduced price. Now the new scanner is installed and working. Thank you Bicard readers! Scanner works well. I had to recalibrate it after about 500 scans, but I think that's normal. The basic software I chose could have been better. For example, the Control Panel cannot be collapsed. A simple thing, but it takes up a lot of screen space. When using autosave, there's really no need to show an image, but there's no option not to show an image. In general it does the job it was bought for.

The scanner feeds ID cards from the bottom, causing them to scan at an angle or more than half of the information is missing from the image. In a chat with a Revain representative, they informed me that sometimes you have to scan twice. If the scanner showed an image after scanning, we could get by. The image has to be opened manually, so we don't really know when it's going to be scanned right or wrong. Wouldn't buy it if you need a solution that scans with better than 60% accuracy.

When I call tech support multiple times, I always get a full voicemail box! Hmm, red flag? I tried to use it, it worked intermittently and now it's dead: dead, keeps telling me to check the connection, which I did, even bought 2 brand new cables and tested on 2 computers, not working, moreover I uninstalled and reinstalled drivers and software deployment for useless. Waiting for a call back/email to see if this is a common occurrence or if they can help with an exchange? Will be updated.

I thought this product could scan both sides of a driver's license and an SS card and send the image to my desktop as a PDF or other file. I didn't understand how/or if it is capable of this feature. I don't have the software that hospitals/pharmacies use so maybe I was hoping this would work for my smaller projects that don't have advanced software to integrate this device.
