Good for Windows XP users but NOT Windows Vista

I've been using this CardScan for a while now and it's working quite well but recently I switched to Vista and the scanner stopped working so I have Checked the company website for downloadable updates but couldn't find them. I contacted CardScan via email and they replied that I had to purchase their $80 upgrade (plus shipping) in order for my device to work with Windows Vista. All of the other hardware vendors for other products I use on my computer (Dymo LabelWriter, Neat Receipts, etc.)…

Quick Use of Business Cards in Electronics

Tired of stacks of business cards on your desk? This could be a clean spreadsheet solution. The scanner scans each business card and the program inserts the text into the appropriate address book fields. The scanned image ends up in the address book. Setup takes ten minutes, including installing the software, plugging the scanner into a USB port, and scanning the first card. As with any scanner on the market, the scanned text contains typographical errors and is not always in the correct field.

Pros
  • Worth Your Money
Cons
  • No Insurance

Must Have for Business Cards

If you regularly collect business cards, this is a must have. It just scans them onto your computer and puts all the items in the right boxes. It also syncs with your Palm on the fly and saves a backup on cardcan.net. Prints mailing labels too quickly. Love it.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled

Working CHEAP

had minimal trouble getting the right software due to the age of the build, but after a little searching online downloads were available for current versions of Windows.

Love it. Love it. in business card scanners

I've had a CardScan 600c for a few years. to the home office. I love this because right after the meeting I can write a few keywords on business cards and when I scan later the notes are there. I then type those notes into the CardScan text box. I also recorded the event "Messe XYZ 2012". That way I can look up everyone I met at THIS event and provide some consistency when I call in a few months. Custom "checkboxes" are also very useful. Some of these already exist, but I'd also like to add my…

I can't type and my mom can't swing

OK so the title is only half right I really can't type. So this little car is a godsend. I'm a computer assembler and programmer by trade, so many people ask me what toys to buy. Without a doubt, if you "collect" business cards, you must have these. Installation is easy and the software is better than you might expect. I would say that the export functions in the software handle 99% of the PIMS and DBF that are commonly used. Sure, it's difficult to check every card you scan, but once your…

Smart Business Card Scanner Old School Network Support

It was the computer revolution, now it's the internet revolution. The 600C business card scanner and software is really cool. It can find out 100% what a person's name, job title, company, address, phone and fax number, email address and web address is. It even makes maps in Spanish. It can recognize black text on a white card and white text on a black card. It has issues with copper-colored text on a glossy black card, which really makes it stand out for the auto mechanic who made it, but the…
