Review on πŸ” Optimized for SEO: Visioneer RoadWarrior 3 Simplex Mobile Document Scanner for PC and Mac, USB Powered Travel Scanner by Scott Ward

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good hardware but software suite creaks and can't keep up with Win10

I've been working with Visioneeer products for a long many years. I would still use my Storm PageScan USB scanner except there are no drivers for it other than Win7. I had the original RoadWarrior scanner and it was very good, but again the Visioneer didn't update the drivers on Win10 and I couldn't use it anymore. Now with RoadWarrior 3 I can use the scanner with Win10. Like its predecessors, it's very small, lightweight, and does the job you'd expect from a travel-ready scanner. However, I cannot give it more than 3 stars because I am very disappointed with the software package that came with it. OmniPage 18 is not compatible with Win10 and PaperPort has not been updated to work with Win10. I believe the only included program that works with Win10 is PDF Converter Pro (which I don't need because I have Acrobat). All in all, it looks like Visioneer is throwing in a bunch of old, crappy software, and since they OWN that software (via Nuance), there's no excuse for that. I'll probably ditch the Visioneer next time I'm in the market and get another laptop, most likely a Brother. I have a Brother all in one and am impressed with the bundled software and firmware updates which they rarely release.

Pros
  • FLEXIBLE MEDIA HANDLING: Scan receipts, business cards, documents, photos and more in color and B&W
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
