I received the product a few days ago, I enjoyed using it, I opened everything, I had to receive a repackaged unit, first I noticed the state in which it has been delivered, you always know when someone has already been inside. First clue was that everything was just scattered, sec. I noticed something like a knock just lying there π it's disappointing, I plugged it in, set the temp and checked, it was 103 degrees π³ wtf, so those Sensor temp not working properly so I decided to solder the battery pack I need to assemble and with the iron on its almost middle position didn't melt brad piont. WTF. not hot enough it dropped to 210 degrees so i set it to the highest limit. and waited about 3 minutes, it took some pressure on the heating sore to heat the head to build up the temperature at which the old solder would melt. WTF π€ (It shouldn't work like that). (That's not how it all works). I took the solder out of the box and found that it had already been used. it was laden with old solder. I had to STOP EVERYTHING, thoroughly clean and lubricate the o-rings, now it works. I put the suction cup back to assemble and tried again, grabbing the soldering iron and placing it on the board. Ahhh wait --- just kidding. No luck remelting the old solder, I had to use a heat gun which works fine, but I haven't checked the temperature of the heat gun or if it was actually accurate. I thought what the heck, that's probably not the case, but it happened. Melt the solder, whatever it is. . Pros: The heat gun π« worked, but the iron sucks, my old $9 Walmart soldering iron works a lot better π and is more reliable. Oh, and I checked the ground wire that goes all the way in. Dose isn't good enough, there's a lot of resistance in that ground lug and/or wire. Now I can reverse engineer it for the price I paid. I will do that. Don't return it and I know I can improve on the current design. In order to work better, to make this a future project, it's sitting in a pile of junk in a corner that I hope to reach one day.
