NOT defective DisplayPort
In a previous review titled "Faulty DisplayPort," the reviewer claims to have received two devices with the same issue, the second DisplayPort not working. You don't seem to realize that on this monitor, one of the DisplayPort ports is an input and the other is an output. I suspect they were trying to use both as input and that's apparently why one worked for them and the other didn't seem to work. Most likely, nothing happened to the device.
