I recently installed SharkTap to solve another security issue and found that Annke's dashcam doesn't just force ports in my firewall to support services that allow you to view cameras and control the system remotely, even if these functions are disabled. DISABLED in DVR UI - but it also creates and maintains external connections to at least 2 hosts in China (for updates?, for.?). Connections to China are not authorized by me and do not have the appropriate settings that I can find on the DVR to stop them. I've disconnected the NVR from my network, but I'm still getting request packets from Chinese servers looking for the IP address I set earlier. If you purchase this product, NEVER connect it to your network and NEVER install Annke's ("Annke Vision") mobile apps. I may be being overprotective, but I prefer my own safety and protection. Annke says that they do the same – I don't think so.
