Review on Freeman PFR2190 Lightweight Interchangeable Nail Gun: Enhanced Flexibility and Efficiency at a 21 Degree Angle by Alan Massey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great tool, great price!

This is my first air tool and I've been really debating whether or not to get one. Well, what was I thinking? I'm building a barn and honestly now I couldn't imagine how to do it without a tool like this to hand hammer every nail! Don't hesitate to get a pneumatic nail gun for any framing work. You will absolutely not regret it. I was unfamiliar with the Freeman brand, but researching reviews on amazon.com put my choice somewhere in the low-to-mid range. Reviews were good and I was attracted by the 7 year warranty and the fact that it comes with a case. I like to really take care of my instruments and I couldn't imagine buying an item like this without a case which knocks out most of the competition. One of the reviewers I read commented on the instrument's looks. I agree that a tool should look good and work well too. After opening the packaging box and instrument case, I was amazed by the appearance of the instrument. It sat so snuggly in the included pouch, along with a small packet of allen screws and a tiny oil container/dispenser (you use the oil to put a few drops in the tool's air intake before each use). The instrument is a fine craftsmanship and very beautiful. Let's start using the tool. Well it's a lot more than I expected. Never used, I was expecting something of the size of an electric drill. No, it's about 50% more! And quite heavy (about 8.5 pounds). No problem. I am a 5ft 5in male, weigh 160 pounds and have not had any weight issues. I just finished the floor of my barn and wow this amazing tool works flawlessly! sounds "puff"! The depth of the nail can be easily changed by simply turning the adjustment screw. When the tool arrives it has a protective cover on the nozzle that protects the work surface from marking. This is a great feature, but I found it reduced the drive's performance a bit. If you're not afraid of ruining your desktop, don't use it. I also like the feature that allows you to direct the exhaust 360 degrees at any angle. If you are new to air tools, you will need an air compressor to use this tool. I bought a Bostitch BTFP02012 6 gallon pancake compressor and it was perfect. Also, you definitely need an accessory kit like this: Primefit IK2004-2 50ft PVC Air Hose with 25 Piece Air Supply Kit and Storage Case. you have to find out a bit yourself. Well I am so impressed with the Freeman nail gun - and NO, I had no incentive to write a review. I'm just happy with this thing. Go and get it!
