Review on Radio receiver Tecsun R-303 black by Mateusz Kot ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best purchase in my life, I will definitely buy it again.

I bought it in 1998, used it for three years, almost all the time during the passage I received Odessa (in Nikolaev, about 120 km), especially 2022 radio, even then Hong Kong, it was not yet in Nikolaev, and when we launched it, somewhere for half a year they turned on the transmitter at full power only at night, from 23 to 7 hours, and, as it turned out later, they did not turn it off during the day, but somehow screwed the power to a minimum, other receivers received it no further than 2 km from the transmitter to a piece of wire on the antenna, and on it I accidentally discovered it about 5 kilometers away, also on a piece of wire and began to listen almost constantly. With good passage, it was tolerably received stations over 300 km or more (Crimea and Moldova in Nikolaev and Kyiv, Krivoy Rog and Dnepropetrovsk in the Aleksandrovsky district of the Kirovograd region. In the summer of 2022, I received Poles in Truskavets, and a month ago I did not hear them on Mason R691L. On MW and HF are also much better than Kipo and Mason. Now I might also buy it, but I have not seen it for sale, perhaps an upgraded model with a digital frequency indicator and the same receiving characteristics.

Pros
  • Extended VHF, high sensitivity and selectivity, two-channel headphone output, universal power supply, the ability to charge AA batteries and use larger batteries in addition to AA batteries (element 343 according to the Soviet classification, used in Soviet receivers and tape recorders, now I have not seen such, smaller than D - item 373).
Cons
  • In my opinion, overpriced (about $ 20), after three years the volume control, tuning and range switch began to rustle a little.
