I took a chance and believed the positive reviews and immediately bought three of these, each for a 5 gallon betta tank, but unfortunately the filtration is too weak even for them. Another point, as others have mentioned, is that if you fully submerge the filter so that the outlet is below the surface, a curious Betta fish is likely to swim in. This happened in two of the three tanks I put it in, but it's easy to fix by either raising the outlet slightly above the surface, or using a small piece of mesh or sponge to block the inlet (which lowers the water level lowers). output power even more).
