I came back to check this out because I was distressed by this purchase. It's way more expensive than a traditional changing pad and totally worth it. Our daughter sometimes pees or poops while changing her diaper and it's a horrible mess. We just pick it up and wipe everything from one end with a paper towel and then disinfect it with an antibacterial wipe - like new. No washing. We've had it for 2 months now and it's still in perfect condition with no signs of wear or stains. Plus it's nice and heavy and never slides on the dresser. This is the only thing I would change: 1. I would like it to be slightly inclined towards the legs so that the urine flows there on its own. You have to lift the baby's head very quickly to keep it clean. 2. The packaging is open at the front, presumably so people can feel the items in the store, but the pad was dirty when it arrived because the box was actually open. I was able to clean it with an all-purpose cleaning spray, but it was a little fiddly.
