TLDR: At this price of about $25, it is competitive with other models. Honestly, your laptop either has adequate cooling or it doesn't, so there's no point in upgrading and spending $50 or more on a laptop cooling pad. The pad simply allows your system to perform at its best, but no better. Keep this in mind when shopping. I ordered 2 and 1 broke immediately. The exchange worked. Before and after, it lowered the temperature of my laptops by about 3-4 degrees Celsius at maximum load. However…

    Thermaltake never disappoints

Need a cooling pad for my laptop. I edit videos on it and my son plays on it when my main computer is used for work. I did notice that it got a bit crispy in the last render step, even though I installed a new internal fan and a new Arctic Silver. Since I've been using the stand, heat is no longer a problem. While I like it, I use thermal fans and a tower on my main computer and have no complaints. On the cooling side of the laptop, the 200mm fan doesn't fail at all. it's quiet, even if the…

Low noise, low fan power. 10 degrees less

I was skeptical because it was an exchange, Amazon has a limited and poor range of cooling pads that it sells locally. Of all, this one had the fewest bad reviews. Yes, it's light and yes, the fan noise is low. Actually lower than my laptop fans at high settings. The fan isn't that powerful, you sacrifice noise for performance. When you game, you need a powerful fan that forces cool air into the vents underneath the laptop to cool the CPU and GPU. This product does, but overall it's not…

Broke after a week: Cooling pads

This is my second one, the first worked great, the second broke after about a week. Thermaltake's warranty page and shipping cost make it pointless to waste time on a replacement. My fan has stopped spinning, but I still use it to lift my laptop. The bottom can be a little more comfortable for lap use, I think it's more suitable for surface mounting the computer.

5 star product adding Infinity AC amp

I have had over 2 dozen fans all claiming air with unique designs of multiple fans, large fans, suction designs, blowers with an attached hood and move everything else in between. This large fan itself has good airflow and was able to keep my laptop moderately cool, but eventually it was really just moving air around my desk and not delivering sustained cold air (because longer sessions need to change the ambient temperature around the laptop. that has to happen, as the air is usually warmer…

    Works exactly as advertised

I wouldn't call this a take away cool box but for my use it's perfect. The large diameter fan pushes out enough air and makes very little noise. I run it at around 75% to cool a 6-core discrete GPU (with Hyper-Threading) and 16GB of RAM, and it keeps the internal fan from overclocking (for the most part) while the VMs are running. For those wondering, more smaller fans have to spin faster and therefore make a lot more noise to move the same amount of air. It won't pull your hair back, but then…

Easily cools a hot WiFi router

I was looking for a solution to cool my Asus AC3100 router and it worked. Typically, a router does not require active cooling. As long as the router is in an open area where air can circulate, you're fine. Most new router processors are designed to work in temperatures between 70 and 80 degrees Celsius and even slightly higher without too much trouble. I had the problem that the indoor space where I store my router is always warm. Although I place my router outdoors, the ambient temperature in…

Broken. short circuit of wires. Bad design.

Crappy design. The cable is not properly attached to the case, which leads to a short circuit of the device and a complete failure. This is a design flaw and over time any owner of this product will likely experience the same results with it being moved, stored and used regularly. I originally bought it to test thermals against a cheap Chinese imitation. it initially outperformed and dropped my peak temps by 3C. Then it collapsed, so cheap Chinese is better than Thermaltake. Thermaltake was…

Great laptop cooler for a small price although a little small in size

Bought this cooler for my Lenovo Y40 14" because the battery had to be changed a couple of times due to rapid wear and tear (eg Luckily I have an extended 2 year warranty. As the Y40 was nearing the end of its warranty and battery degradation is usually related to heat, I bought this to keep in the office (I also had another cooler for home use). Short said: Pros: - Good build, especially for the price - Barely audible (if at all) - Blue LEDs (although hard to see when the laptop is standing on

    Works as expected

You currently have two of these fans. The first fan is about 2 years old, the second about a year. Both are used almost every day. Both fans are practically silent at maximum speed. Both reduce the internal heat of the laptop and also reduce the frequency of the laptop's internal fan. Neither of them came with a "Y" cable. Both only use one port of the laptop they are connected to; and both have a USB connector integrated into the fan's USB connector as shown in one of the photos. In my…
