I have to admit that I didn't believe other reviewers that the iron that came with it was junk. Because the studs in my walls were far apart, like many others, I took a 2x10 board, hung it with a few screws, and then attached the brackets to the tree. The heads of the screws broke off as if they were plastic. DISCARD THE DEVICE IMMEDIATELY. This is the worst quality device I know. I read the reviews before hanging the mounts and still ignored the other warnings. Save time and effort re-drilling new holes. Terrible hardware aside, the mounts themselves are pretty well made and look like they'll hold up well.
