Realizing that I wanted to shoot in apartments and houses, I decided I needed something wider than a boring fifty kopeck piece. There were 2 options: either take the New Canon 24-70mm 2.8, or 35mm. There is very little light in our sunny St. Petersburg 😁, so I realized that 1.4 would still be more relevant. Then there was the choice of Canon or Sigma art. There were so many positive reviews about the latter that I didn’t even bother with the choice. I took a sigma, wound up on a Canon 5d Mark 4 and ran to the park to shoot a friend and her family. And then 2 surprises awaited me))) 1. The photos turned out to be with protective circles around the perimeter (but, thank the gods, this can be turned off in the camera settings) and 2. The focus is somewhere, but not where it should be on some frames. Without hesitation, we bought a docking station, it is inexpensive and calibrates the lens itself. And then the most important! what you need to know about the really coolest 35 lens: there is a marriage, and this marriage is NOT calibrated ! In the calibration program you will find 4 parameters, different distances to the object. And if the first three can be calibrated, then the last indicator (it is called 0.8m and to infinity) cannot be calibrated in any way. The lens has been changed. The new one was calibrated perfectly, and for a year now it has been very pleasing) By the way, masterpieces published by famous blogs were filmed on it. It gives a very cool cinematic picture, if you do not shoot in the forehead, but a little from below or from above. Everything that is needed is included in it. Moreover, you can take cool portraits with the Sigma Art 35mm 1.4 lens (contrary to the general opinion that you can’t make a normal portrait wide). And here it is the perfect lens! I would say the best and only one for this format. In general, super hiley recommended!
