Review on πŸ–₯️ Streamlined USB Keyboard and Mouse Combo - Verbatim Slimline Series in Sleek Black Design by Mar Pacora

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Feels and looks good

I had an old backlit keyboard that suddenly lost the ability to type on a few keys. I tried to find a YouTube guide on how to fix the keys but couldn't get my keyboard back. I then ordered a backlit "gaming" keyboard from Revain, which was awful - the keys started wearing out right away, and after two months some of the keys were just smudges (the letters were completely unreadable). I was looking for a backlit keyboard again and settled on the Verbatim (model 99789). So far I have used it extensively for almost two months and it looks and feels good. It's a bit noisy, but quieter than many keyboards. The backlight is a nice white color (not the rainbow of colors that a "gaming" keyboard was) and of the right intensity. I often sit at this keyboard in the dark early in the morning when the lights in the room are off and the backlight is just right. There is only one intensity for the backlight. So if the intensity isn't for you, there's only an on/off button for the backlight. (See my photo for the backlight switch.) I love the tactile feel of this Verbatim keyboard. I also like that it has dedicated volume up/down buttons so I can easily adjust the volume on my headphones - these buttons are also backlit and easy to find. Overall, after almost two months of use, I really like it. Verbatim keyboard. I recommend. Updated review after 10 months of use: The keyboard wore out quickly. The letters on some keys quickly wore out and were completely erased. In particular, the N, M, L, O, and C keys are completely unreadable, as are the D, K, and H keys. Give me spaces I don't need. Yes, it was a cheap keyboard, the cheapest backlit keyboard I could find. But it wears out badly in less than a year. I'm downgrading my original 5 star rating to 1 star.

Pros
  • Top marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models
