Review on KEEN Womens Newport Retro W Original Women's Shoes : Athletic by Patrick Martin

I have a pair of original Newport H2 Keen sandals from 15 years ago when Martin Keen owned the company and designed the shoes. These sandals have endured hundreds of adventures, fit like a glove and are still built to last. After this pair I bought a few more Keens. While these are decent sandals, none of them look like the real thing. I love the colors of these sandals and that's what drew me to them. The colors did not disappoint. But the fit, material quality and construction leave a lot to be desired and cannot be compared to the originals. The arch support is much lower and the adjustment strap is thinner. The landing is also strange. I have fairly long and narrow feet. Difficult to get the ankle piece tight enough to hold the back strap in place and the front is quite tight. These sandals are not at all suitable for the slightest bursitis. I keep them for the color but I will never love the fit. I wish Martin Keen would continue to design and market these shoes!
