Review on πŸŽ’ Top-notch quality and comfort: Lucky Bums Kids Switchback Daypack" by Christine Chase

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The clasp at the waist also broke (less than a year or so) but it's easy to fix. It has no padding

Use it as a travel backpack and as a school backpack. In fact, it is also used as our travel bag. This is not an adult bag, so don't expect adult size! My son is in 1st grade and it fits what he needs to take to and from school plus some extras but I don't think it will work if used by kids with lots of textbooks. Daily items (for my 1st grader autistic son) include diapers and wipes, change of clothes and shoes, sports bottle on one side, iPod on the other, charger, glasses, 2-3 library books, binder and much more 1-2 bags of homework (hot dots, packages with manipulators etc.). It fits an iPad, but it's tight due to the large body and all. For hiking, my son can bring everything he needs (clothing, diapers, drinks, etc.) as well as toys and snacks, as well as a jacket or a towel (waiting for the season) and he still has enough space. Cons: After a little over a year of heavy use, it's starting to fray at the bottom and around the zip where we use too many jackets, books, etc) - but easily fixed. There are no pads on the hip belt so it hasn't been used much anyway. I don't think we'll live with using it every day for a full year, but given the abuse it's been through, it's held up very well! I like the style, color and size. It's not too big for our son, but big enough so he doesn't feel silly carrying it when he can't (my husband wasn't a fan of carrying the previous Skippy John backpack).

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
