The product works well when lifted and prevents the baby from rolling, but when the rail is folded down the rail stays in place keeping it upright when it is not used and folded, which is dangerous. My grandson is 6 years old and the railing was in the down position and he was sitting on the bed and then slipped off the edge of the mattress, caught on a sharp object, scratched and injured himself. If the rails are folded exposing the part that holds them in place, it's not the best design at all. It's fine if you leave the rails up, but the top mattress will slide a lot under the mattress due to the height of the rails. It has NO way to attach it to the spring block so it doesn't slip with the mattress. If you keep it up, it's ok against a wall. I am dissatisfied with this item and will return its function due to the dangers. I'll go with a rail that's easy to remove and reinstall. I used these guys on my boys when they were little and had better luck than this new Freaky. And there's no way I want my grandson to injure his privates again because he slipped off the bed onto that sharp piece.
