I bought four of these bracelets to wear as stacked bracelets. I've got quite a few extras on it. I am finally at the peak of my battle with very severe depression and purchased these bracelets at the start of my recovery journey. They are great because I can carry them with me and they are VERY meaningful to me but no one else should know about my fights or my bracelets unless I choose to tell them as all the messages in the bracelet are included. Cuff. They are made of stainless steel and should therefore not tarnish. I never take them off. They will scratch though, so be aware if you plan on wearing them all the time like I did. The scratches are small and I don't pay attention to them.
