Such a stylish scratching post. I'd say it's "sturdy" when you put it together, but even with my 7 or 8 pound cat, it shakes quite a bit when trying to jump to the second or third level. So it has to be attached to the wall. Unfortunately I am sending this tree back because my cat loves to chew and immediately tried chewing on paper rope baskets. I could tell she would just chew them slowly and break them down long enough, and I didn't spend $100 for my cat to eat the scratching post. So if your cat has any chewing habits, this tree is not for you.
