Pros: - High quality ties - Authentic Hogwarts colors (Hufflepuff is now yellow and black) - Amazing price. Cons: - Not the ties that were literally used for filming. In all honesty, if you weren't accepted into Hogwarts and are trying to save a few sickles by shopping at Revain instead of Madam Malkin, you'll find that these ties will exceed your expectations. As another reviewer mentioned, they're a little thinner than your grandfather's traditional ties, but I don't think your average Gen X/Millennial/Xenial Harry Potter fan will even notice. As the description says, they are 2 3/4 inches at their widest point, so not really "tight ties". The colors are vibrant - almost identical to the hue of the ties worn by the Hogwarts cast at Universal Studios. . The fabric is soft and silky. It's a bit prone to snagging, but what ties don't snag? I bought them as props to play with in my fifth grade, and even in the toughest of conditions (think tug of war when 10-year-olds lose) they held up great. I'm really looking forward to representing my Ravenclaw house at any Harry Potter events I'll be attending in the future.
