I bought this product because when I fit a towel rail it fits into the cleats and this allows the bar to expand/contract to the right size . Very suitable for small bathrooms with non-standard shelf spacing. I don't waste time with ineffective wall anchors. So if you are planning to install in studs, save yourself a lot of hassle and hassle and go to a big store and buy some real bolts. The ones supplied were the softest metal (which is what you would expect from a cheap Chinese material). I bought 4 zinc wood screws (8 x 1-1/14 inch). They are slightly larger than the ones supplied but I don't think they are up to imperial standards. I used a 7/64" bit (because the screws had coarse threads). Installed with no problems. I removed two of the included ones very easily. It felt solid and the internal sockets on the inside give a good grip when adjusting. I had expected some loosening (again always a gamble with cheap china products) At this price I would probably buy again and spend $1.75 on real screw hardware.
