I have a Galaxy Note 9 with a case that opens like a book to protect the screen when it's not is used. I saw an advertisement for a Laser Tec drink holder on TV and realized it wouldn't fit in my type of suitcase. This cup holder will because it clamps the top and bottom instead of sizes. This allows me to put my open phone in the holder so I can use Google Maps while driving. The base is better than the Laser Tec because you insert the base into the cup holder and twist the dial to pull the levers out until they're pressed firmly against the inside of the cup holder. It's easier to use than Laser Tec and safer. It's also a lot cheaper than Laser Tec and still allows you to plug in a charging cable and use the buttons on the sides of the phone.
