These are by far the worst coasters I have ever seen. Doesn't absorb water at all. I have other coasters, I don't remember the manufacturer but they work fine. Not thinking they would be that bad, I took one after the glass had been sitting on it for about 15 minutes. Water dripped, but the glass stuck to the stand. Nothing out of the ordinary, but I didn't expect it to happen so quickly. Then the coaster fell off the glass and scratched my desk. It's my fault for not checking first to see if it's stuck, but I wasn't expecting it to be so quick. In any case, I decided to give them a break-in period. After trying them for about ten days, I ran the same test. After about 15 minutes the bowl was filled with unabsorbed water. So I left it, and after two hours the water was still piling up on the stand. No absorption. Did I get a bad batch? Possibly, but I tried another Thirsty Stone Coaster, a square one. Same problem. Didn't absorb any water. Can color affect absorption? I wrote directly to Thirsty Stone about this problem with attached photos (pic 3,4,5 after two hours).
