Review on πŸ”Š GTEK Portable Monitor: Ultrawide Screen, 1920X1080, Blue Light Filter, 60Hz, Built-In Speakers by Allan Hammett

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Adjust the resolution, the magnetic stand is difficult

I give it 5 stars for value but in reality it's probably a 4 star product. Because it was so affordable, I'm willing to compromise. It works great, plug and play via a powered USB-C port. I have a laptop with an old USB port that it doesn't work with, but it's not a very advanced device so that's what I expected (2014 13" Macbook Pro). It works on my 2021 16" M1 Macbook Pro outstanding. The resolution is great, but READ MORE. Initially I was very disappointed with the quality of the resolution, but initially dismissed it as a cheap solution. After a few weeks I adjusted the resolution in the display settings and it's SUPER CLEAR! Great resolution as soon as you enter it. Finally, I use the monitor as a last resort when I'm not at my desk and having an impromptu meeting. I look like a clumsy idiot every time I try to unfold the magnetic case and origami to put it in a standing position. I don't use it very often and I always forget how to fold the damn thing properly! Plus top quality for the price! It's about the same size as my 16-inch Macbook Pro (obviously much lighter). I can also put my laptop and screen in the same backpack sleeve which is nice. about the thickness of my Macbook, so if you're wondering if yours will fit in whatever bag you carry it in, keep that in mind.

Pros
  • Excellent for the price
Cons
  • Static Noise: If the monitor signal is not strong enough, static noise may appear on the display.
