The light is really cool and works really well for photos but there are some inconsistencies with the remotes. Pictures online or in the instructions. I wonder if this is the cause of my second problem; The remote control doesn't work at all. It has fresh batteries in it and a small light flashes red when the buttons are pressed, but it doesn't affect the ring light in any way. The only way to change the mode is to manually press the button on the USB control cable. I was interested in this function for easily changing the video, but without a working remote control this is not possible. You have to click through the entire set of color options and light combinations to select the one you want, rather than just pressing the color you want on the remote control. Slightly messes up the effect I was hoping for in my videos, but it's still a cool light. I probably only use it as a night light in my bedroom 🤷‍♀️
