When I received them they were intact and in good condition; So far, so good. I haven't burned anything yet (I won't until Hanukkah begins) so I can't say how long they will last or how much or how little mess they will make. One thing I noticed is that they are a bit thinner than the regular old candles I grew up with and they hang around on all but one of my menorahs. I can get them to work by either melting the bottom of the candles as I put them in or by squeezing the foil candle holders I use. It would be nice if they were a bit wider at the bottom than they are; It's easier to shave a little if you have a small menorah than to adjust it.
