I have the 5 port option. Works right out of the box, put a couple of large drives in and they ran with no fuss. Disk-to-disk or computer-to-disk data transfer speeds aren't terrible as you'd expect, but not as fast as internal drives connected via SATA. Build quality is decent, but mostly just hollow plastic with no hard drive support, leading to lots of noise. Vibration discs are very noisy against plastic. I took some large rubber bands to wrap around the discs and base to keep vibration/noise to a minimum and it got better. The noise is quite noticeable, even when the drives say they have 0% activity they are very, very loud. in the dock. Absolutely worth it for the previous price!
