I just found out I have melanoma and the next day I got heat exhaustion from gardening (Houston, hard clay, bright sun and June!). So asap I was looking for something that could easily cover my neck and I also have very thin dark hair that loves to burn the scalp. Never. I can tie my hair up and the hat is great (maybe fat people can't do the IDK). I still put sunscreen on my face because it's in my makeup and lip balm. Sorry I have really white winter skin, 10 minutes in the sun and I burn! This is great because I can never properly cover the back of my head or my ears. No sunburn and I feel cool. My other hat was absolutely smothering, straw hat.
