Review on ๐Ÿ›น Black Krown Rookie Skateboard Checker by Doug Hook

If you're buying because you like the deck, it's worth the price.

Overall this is a good board. It's also a terrible learning board. If you're buying because you think you want to learn how to skateboard and you like the graphics on the deck, the price isn't bad. The wheels are very soft, but actually not everything is so bad. Trucks are kind of junk and not really regulated. They're low enough that you can bite the wheel if you weigh over 50 pounds. It rolls badly and starts to drift quickly. With that in mind, if you're a beginner or a kid trying out the water, that's quite enough. It'll do for a short range of activities or whatever, but if you find that you enjoy skating at all, you'll probably want to at least upgrade the trucks and maybe the wheels. So if you invest in this kit and then upgrade the bogies and/or wheels you are effectively paying for a decent kit. If you think you're going to skate and really want to do it, spend the extra money and buy an actual kit at your local skateboard shop where you can hop on it and test it out and/or get info from the staff (who is most likely a skateboarder). If you're just trying the water or maybe buying it for a kid, that might be ok. There's one more thing to remember - learning to skate is hard. Poor quality gear doesn't make things easier and often causes people to quit when they might not otherwise have done so.
