Intelligent Thunderbolt Dock
I haven't had any major problems with this dock. I will say that the cable could be longer; I run my MacBook Pro in clamshell mode with the vent facing up, so when I plug in the dock it lifts awkwardly into the air. But short dock cables seem to be something of an industry standard. This one has a mini displayport, the other (smaller) dock has a full-size displayport, it's not a big deal anyway, although the full-size displayport lock feature is a good thing. I connected a USB port to my monitor's built-in hub and my webcam, no problem. So yes, a decent try.
