No power cord - docking station

Appears to be a quality product but does not include a power cord. Value for money seems pretty good until you need to buy a cable.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Intelligent Thunderbolt Dock

I haven't had any major problems with this dock. I will say that the cable could be longer; I run my MacBook Pro in clamshell mode with the vent facing up, so when I plug in the dock it lifts awkwardly into the air. But short dock cables seem to be something of an industry standard. This one has a mini displayport, the other (smaller) dock has a full-size displayport, it's not a big deal anyway, although the full-size displayport lock feature is a good thing. I connected a USB port to my…

Basic docking station, lots of ports

Update (9/11/20): The woman ran a 2 hour backup (was a while) and the temps started at 87F and ended at 101F USB-C is becoming more common and there are many hub options. What differs from this is the VGA connector, which is not so common these days. Most docking ports have an HDMI or display port (this one has a mini-DP). This docking station is suitable for those who have a VGA monitor. Pros: I let my wife charge test dock on my Macbook Pro; The dock started at 79F and went up to 84F, so…

RevainBasics never ceases to amaze me with value for money

I prefer the wedge shaped keyboard design. It looks cleaner and all ports on the back help with cable management. 3 USB 3.0 ports are a must, especially for those connecting peripherals like a keyboard and mouse. This is a very versatile hub that can connect three different displays (DP, HDMI and VGA). The included gigabit internet is best utilized for those who work long hours and plan to be stationary without sacrificing internet speeds over Wi-Fi and one of the main reasons I bought this is…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Out of style

I got this to use with my Dell Precision 7710. It doesn't require USB-C charging so I have these Function of this document not used. My usage is strictly for fast connections to a VGA monitor, keyboard and mouse, LAN and external audio. Practical plus points are a memory card reader and a third USB port. It was plug and play with Windows 10. Connect devices and plug them into my USB-C port. It was recognized and just worked. My monitor is a 24 inch Dell UltraSharp with a resolution of 1920 x…

Power cord not included

I am using a Belkin Thunderbolt Plus Dock. And while it was reliable, it's also quirky. When I turn on my laptop, my two external monitors are cloned in extended mode. I have to turn off and then turn on again for them to be in fully extended mode. I'm not sure I understand the difference between a Thunderbolt dock and a hub, but I was surprised that no power cord was included. For my MacBook and Windows laptop, this means I used an OEM power adapter instead of switching between them via a hub,
