Revainrating 4 out of 5

The price is relevant for small household

Just received in the mail today, an early birthday present as unfortunately my 40 year old ray of sunshine died its last death and my handheld has a speed (turbo) and I have everywhere Dough. Made the first batch of cookies and shared my first impressions: Pros: -Power! -Sticky feet -Baby won't move no matter how thick the batter is -Construction and ease of use -Once you figure out how to switch the stirring hooks inside and out - see below. - whisks reach to the bottom of the bowl and along the sides - great for blending - price - for a planetary blender this is a great price and I think it will hold up to similar and more expensive brands when blending anything. Definitely not quiet. Gears one through four get progressively louder, but there's a nasty screeching at speeds 5 and 6 - you almost need earplugs to keep your hearing. — The instructions are relatively useless. Had trouble figuring out how to switch hooks - turns out you have to press and then twist to plug and unplug - this isn't mentioned in the instructions. - It's huge - it's a beast. It won't go unnoticed on any countertop - and it's too big to tuck away and pull out every time you want to use it. Other than that, the color is nice and they also sell a silver color (although I haven't seen this as an option on Amazon, it is an option on their website). - Upon inspecting the kneading paddle, it doesn't appear to be smooth - there seems to be a rough edge around the top which makes me wary of cutting my finger while washing, although for obvious reasons I haven't done so yet , since I just got it. I'm also worried about how the bowl will hold up - it's not a fixed shape but the bottom is attached somehow so I'm not sure it will hold together for long. It will be necessary to search. The stirring hook is not made of metal but of plastic. Does it stand up to tough dough? I don't know, but there are doubts. And I don't see any spare parts in stock.

Pros
  • understandable also for the old
Cons
  • sad packaging
