In general, a good lens, and so far the only super zoom with a constant aperture and good sharpness . Ideal for video, but if there was an option with a manual zoom ring, and not a motorized one, I would choose the 2nd one, since I photograph more than making a video. With its pros. I was pleased with the sharpness over the entire field (only the very very edges are soapy, but this is the norm) at all focal lengths with an open aperture! (Feelings after a whale plug 16-50 PZ and telephoto 55-210). And of course, the workmanship is top notch, everything rotates smoothly. Quiet zoom, pretty decent autofocus, normal stub. (All tests were carried out on Sony A6000). The lens feature is Power Zoom (PZ), really a THING! The lever has 3 speeds, and if you turn it smoothly, then when you change the zoom and the end of the zoom phase, a smooth stop occurs, like on video cameras, but if you immediately release the lever, then the stop is quick, like on a plug 16-50. In general, this lens is 95% suitable for video! Cons: As already written here about parking - I agree, but I will also add that the zoom ring during rotation is not so responsive to its change, i. E. on a whale plug 16-50, with a sharp turn of the ring, the zoom is very fast, but here everything is smooth and leisurely, apparently you need to adapt . Another moment was discovered that with different focal lengths, the minimum focusing distance on the object changes greatly. Those. with a focal length of 18 mm, you can focus quite close, but after 85 mm you have to increase the distance to half a meter . In general, it’s not so good for macro, + focusing overshooting 85 mm forces you to refocus, which can interfere with video recording, well, with a photo also in some cases . That is why I lowered the rating for the video by 5% in merits . )
