Used on a trip, my bag wasn't big enough for a 2.5 month stay abroad. I stuffed all my clothes in there and bam, TAAAAAAAAA lots of space. Sturdy enough that nothing ripped in transit and I had to open and vacuum again when packing. I was able to carry 3 LARGE winter coats and they took up about the same space as 4/5 pairs of folded pants. If you suck out most of the air and stop, you will have enough time to reposition/reshape the bag. Then just finish sucking. I forgot to put lids on 2 of my bags and they stayed sealed well. I will use them every time I'm on a plane. It's just a lot easier. I only have to worry about the weight limit, not the space!
