The reason people complain about needing a bigger hole is that if you cut the cylinder at an angle you get an oval and not a circle . So if you cut a 2" hole for a 2" pipe, it will not flush due to the angle of the pipe relative to the boat deck. About 10 seconds on a CAD machine to add a round flush mount collet would allow it to fit the round hole and eliminate the design error. I ended up using a dremel to lengthen the hole to fit. Other than that, it's pretty hard work. Too bad they screwed up the build.
