Great quality/easy to install. As others have commented on the 2 1/4" diameter hole. I chose not to use the rivets of my choice.

Received but decided not to use. I will use it on Pescador 12.0. The yak fits much better due to the spacing of the holes. Although it seems like a good product.

Wish there was a hook on the base so I could put the rod in the holder. It seems to hold the right hand very well, but I lost the bar of it. probably caught on a branch and pulled out.

Like the item, 2 ordered. However, I received 2 different items. Both are packaged with the same item number. I want them to match. Returning an item that does not match the item description photo for a replacement.

Fits perfectly to the original Pelican rod holder. You'll need to get the foam out, which can be a little tricky but doable. Also, internal rivet washers can be difficult to hold when riveting. I did it myself but if possible someone with thin long arms would help me.

The instructions that came with the rod holders specifically state that 2" holes must be drilled for installation. After doing this as directed, I found that a 2.25" diameter hole was needed. So that means either buying a DreMel tool to adjust this thing, or ignoring the instructions and starting with a 2.25" hole. This misinformation turned a 15 minute job into an hour project and a visit to my local hardware store. Buy a Dremel.

The reason people complain about needing a bigger hole is that if you cut the cylinder at an angle you get an oval and not a circle . So if you cut a 2" hole for a 2" pipe, it will not flush due to the angle of the pipe relative to the boat deck. About 10 seconds on a CAD machine to add a round flush mount collet would allow it to fit the round hole and eliminate the design error. I ended up using a dremel to lengthen the hole to fit. The instructions for this on deck rod holder are far from adequate. The parts require drilling a 2 inch diameter hole, but it is structurally impossible to fit the rod holder into that hole. In addition to having to cut slots on each side of the hole to accommodate rebar (which compromise the structural integrity of the boat), the hole must be altered to an ellipse to fit the holder. I installed them on Lifetime/Emotion Guster recreational kayaks, took about an hour total. I agree with other reviews regarding the included instructions. Just throw them away. For those who complain that the installation is difficult or the instructions are misleading. This is a modification to your kayak, be prepared to modify both the kayak and the rod holder for your specific application.
