Type of review

I received the 1 L Stash as a gift this Christmas and have been trying really hard to love it since I have been a diehard Nalgene fan forever. I have run into some drawbacks that are getting in the way so here is my take in case it helps anyone else out there. The pro’s: When its collapsed it saves space. However, for me, this was only in transit getting to/from the trail and not anywhere else. Second, you save weight. Again, however, you only save 3 ounces over a standard full 1-liter Nalgene…

Pros
  • Cup is exactly as expected. Compacts and seals well. Perfect for camping
Cons
  • It leaked

Love this for travel -take lid off for expansion/collapsing

I love this! They don't leak and fold down so small. The key to opening and closing it with ease is to have it unscrewed so air can enter or escape. It will stand up just fine when partially full if you don't squeeze it before closing and leave the extra air in it. It does require 2 hands to drink as the bottle gets empty. When it's fuller, you can hold it by the top plastic with no problem.

Pros
  • Good idea, and convenient, only complaint is it won’t fit in your car’s cup holder
Cons
  • Not suitable for hot liquids

It's Almost Great from the Start!

I really like this product and the concept of it. It's great to collapse it down when you are not using it. The only two things that I don't like is that #1, this does not come in 1 liter for both thread openings. My filter fits fine on this product, but 750 is just a little too small of volume for backpacking. This is a deal breaker for me! I don't see me buying another of this product unless 1L becomes available. Make sure you are buying the right product to fit your filter needs! The second…

Pros
  • Great fit my 10 mile walks!
Cons
  • Prone to leakage

Older model much better

I'm not a review writer generally, but I'm bummed out with my this waterbottle. I've been a Hydrapak fanatic for years. carrying it with me everywhere and singing this brand's praises to anyone who would listen (and many, many did). So much water without the bulk. Perfect. My older model finally sprung a leak from a small puncture and I was excited to get a new one. SO DISAPPOINTED to see how much smaller the new model is even though they are both "1000 ml". The older model carried about 1300ml

Pros
  • Sports Water Bottles
Cons
  • May freeze in colder temperatures

For plein air usage this bottle works

I purchased this bottle to use when plein air painting where any tool that collapses is a plus. Everything must go in a backpack and not add extra weight. Works well.

Pros
  • Provides a convenient solution for staying hydrated on the go
Cons
  • May require additional hydration accessories for ease of use

Purchased for our daily hiking bags

Purchased two for our daily hiking bags. First time we used them, we were concern they would leak in our packs. Also worried about the durability. They held up on our first hike, but our concerns they would eventually leak or fail lead us to carry them empty as emergency spares. We carry a robust water filter and in a pinch, would use these as emergency water bottles, but we're not going to carry them full in our packs. They've worked great just sitting around our camp.

Pros
  • Saves space in your daypack or hiking pack
Cons
  • May not be the most cost-effective option available

Great product for my opinion

It's compact, light to carry and after a few rinses with cold water, water tastes just like water. Quality material too.

Pros
  • This product was perfect for my travels abroad!
Cons
  • Can become easily damaged

Doesn't fit in most water bottle compartments

Meh! If they made this slimmer to fit in a water bottle holder it would be awesome! Good capacity. seems like good quality. Very compressable. Just doesn't fit into anything! Ill keep it and throw it in the car. Oh yeah it is so soft on the sides that if you pick it up from the side your going to splash water all over.

Pros
  • LIGHTWEIGHT - 50% lighter than most hard bottles, the Stash is perfect for hiking, backacking or any other activity where space or weight are at a prem
Cons
  • Not compatible with some water filters

Compact and colorful

Feel sturdy. They stand up on their own when empty (photo with lids off is shown with empty water bottles). Water initially tastes and smells plasticky but that's to be expected with brand new plastic water bottles. Will update this review if they taste does not go away.

Pros
  • Can be filled with your favorite sports drink or electrolyte mix
Cons
  • May be prone to collecting dirt and debris in the collapsible creases

Works Great - folds up very small

Like this bottle a lot, it folds up very small as advertised, is easy to fill and is easier to drink from than it appears. Usually helps to stop walking while drinking as the bottle is a bit more unstable than most sport bottles. I wish the lid was secured to the bottle, it would be easy to lose it. Overall, I like this a lot and glad I bought it.

Pros
  • Can be used for both hot and cold beverages
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in extreme weather conditions

This bottle is pretty awsome

This Bottle is pretty awsome. It's durable and easy to store. Can be a little tough to pull open but taking the cap off and pushing the bottom out works fine. The bottle does fold on you as you drink but that just something to get used to.

Pros
  • Great for backpacking. Lightweight and easy to fill and store :)
Cons
  • Difficult to clean

Very compact best in my review

Packs down so small and once i figured out how to snap and unsnap it to it’s compact form, it was great! Wouldn’t recommend drinking from it for the first time with just a water rinse like i did haha. But the taste improved a lot with soap. My only real complaint is that the soft plastic means you have to support it while you drink out of it but of course that’s the nature of the collapsible bottle. I haven’t used it too long but will be using it for travel this summer and hoping the plastic…

Pros
  • Designed to last for many years of use
Cons
  • May be difficult to drink from with a filtered straw

Hard to drink from, won't stay collapsed

I bought this to clip on to my luggage when I travel. It is hard to collapse - and then hard to get it to stay collapsed into it's compact size (It keeps coming unsecured and opening up). When full, it's a soft-sided bottle so it requires 2 hands to drink - one to hold the bottom and one to hold the top, since it bends when you lift it to drink. I keep water in it most of the time and that helps keep the "plasticky" taste out of the water. I do like that it has a handle - easy to carry, and I…

Pros
  • Compact and versatile for everyday use
Cons
  • Cannot be used for hot soups or broths

Best Compact travel

I’ve had it for 4 months now .This is an awesome cup with a good design ( you need two hands to drink with so don’t listen to stupid reviews saying it’s "hard to drink out of”). It will smell and taste like plastic for a while. Use citrus drinks or mixing baking soda and water will ease the plastic. Now mine has no funky smell or taste at all. So far so good and haven’t had any leaks or holes.

Pros
  • Durable and strong
Cons
  • May have limited color or design choices

be sure to use two hands when drinking!

Bottle is certainly collapsable which is nice for travel, and has so far imparted no flavor to the water inside, but you need to use two hands when tipping the bottle to take a drink so that you don't instead get a bath. Also it is impossible to get into the water bottle pockets on my backpack because it is not rigid, and challenging to use with cup holders in vehicle. Too early to comment on durability.

Pros
  • Provides quick access to hydration
Cons
  • May have difficulties staying upright in a backpack

Great for air travel but hard to clean

Got this bottle for air travel overseas. It was great for packing! However It IS hard to drink from. I also found it very difficult to get the bottom edges clean. I don't think I can recommend it, esp. if you need to pack and drink anything but plain water.

Pros
  • Easy to use and handle
Cons
  • May not be as durable as expected

You need witchcraft to open it!

I was very excited to get my water bottle. I travel a lot and wanted something that I could easily take with me on the road. When I got my water bottle, I spent 10 minutes trying to open it. Finally, probably by magic, it opened. Once open, the bottle looked pretty good. I like the hard plastic on top and bottom, it evens out the collapsible nature of the rest of the bottle. I then decided to "fold up" the bottle so I could try to reopen it. That was a rookie mistake. After another 10…

Pros
  • ULTRA DURABLE - Made of abrasive-resistant TPU, the Stash can stand up to whatever you throw at it.
Cons
  • May be difficult to drink from while on the move

Meh. not sure if Im glad I bought

Yes it's portable. yes it does what advertised. butIt is hard to drink from when full because it does collapse. It smells very Chemical-ish when you purchase - have to wash several times to eliminate the plastic smell. When Collapsed, it is hard to expand. Some people laugh when you use it like "wtf dude" -I like the colorit IS very sturdy.

Pros
  • Saves space in your backpack
Cons
  • May not fit into all camping gear

Excellent product in my review

We took a 12 day trip to Europe and didn't want to lug around big water bottles or buy expensive bottled water, and this was perfect! Its easy and comfortable to drink from, I prefer using two hands when I drink from it. It collapses down to a very small size and fit easily in my purse. Its lightweight and easy to use. I would recommend it to anyone traveling or even for a day trip.

Pros
  • PVC-free to ensure safety and sustainability
Cons
  • Can be difficult to fill up

Love the packability of this bottle combined with the wide .

Love the packability of this bottle combined with the wide mouth opening. I usually swear by Platypus bladders, but the narrow mouths make them hard to clean and hard to pour water into from another container when needed. I got this one to pair with my new GRAYL for when I want to be able to pour filtered water from the GRAYL into another bottle for higher capacity. Pro tip: It took me at least 15 minutes too long to figure out that you squeeze the sides to pop it open, rather than twisting…

Pros
  • Easy to carry and transport
Cons
  • May develop cracks over time
