I bought this in the hope that it would improve my transmission range a bit. To be honest, I can't say whether that was the case or not. But I can say that there was almost no reception. I had to turn off the noise canceling setting on my radio to hear any response at all. What I heard was strong interference, as if the antenna was not connected at all. After reconnecting the standard antenna, I was able to talk to someone 12 miles away through the repeater. Now tell me if this antenna is worth it or not. It was folded in half and mailed in a padded Amazon envelope. It may have been damaged in shipping but I will not try to get another one. I will say that the quality of the material seems pretty good, it folds easily in any direction, although when folded it almost feels like it will break that way.
