I've been a design engineer with a master's degree for 37 years. The design of these inserts is terrible. It's a waste of time. If your cap screw is now being pulled out, only drill a hole with the large diameter of the screw that was pulled out. This leaves a stressed and pliable metal in the wall of the hole. Then you will cut it with the same thread? So now you've moved the problem hole to the side by about .050" and have the same pitch and thread depth. Only now it's made of weakened aluminum. And you expect a different result? Definition of stupidity.
