Review on 🍲 Rubbermaid TakeAlongs Twist & Seal 1.2 Cup Food Storage Containers, Tint Chili - Set of 4 by Michelle Hall

I bought three 4-pack, a dozen, of these Rubbermaid Twist & Seal food containers 36 months (3 years) ago. I have been buying and using Rubbermaid plastic food containers regularly for 50 years and still have the most I have ever bought, most of them work well and are almost like new after many years. I've had them for a number of decades, so I just figured these TakeAlong Twist & Seals would work just as well. Oops, that's a very bad assumption on my part! In their favor these containers were good, small for us; they had screw-on, secure, leak-proof lids; and the translucent base was made of hard plastic, good for food and smells. And as Rubbermaid notes, their tapered, rounded bottom makes them easy to eat and clean. However, they were very unstable on these narrow shelves, so they tended to fall and generally didn't stack well. But since earlier this year, when those dozens of containers were just over two years old, their bottoms began cracking, or cracking, with little, normal force. Apparently the hard plastic suddenly became brittle. By the middle of this year half a dozen bases had already gone down and by now it was probably 8. So, as a loyal Rubbermaid customer with a long history, I decided to just call Rubbermaid Customer Service and they would answer right away. solve this little problem properly. Oops, another wrong guess on my part! I asked them to replace those dozens of broken and obviously defective containers with similar sized containers that also had securely sealed lids but were made of non-breakable plastic. Turns out that meant their newer, higher-end Brilliance line of products. They seem to have sold these Brilliance containers primarily in packs of 5; So, in an attempt to be nice, I asked them to please just give me 10 of these (two packs of 5) to replace my fancy dozen. And they ended up sending the replacement that I asked for and eventually demanded, except it took me several dozen phone calls, over a dozen hours total, more than a few months of elapsed time, and over a dozen huge big lies to me from Rubbermaid CS.I. I won't go into all the details, just giving a few examples of how Rubbermaid's customer service team lies, stalls, and lies to their customers: Whenever a CS. undertakes/promises to do something for the customer, e.g. B. to send a replacement for a defective product by a certain date. And if for any reason the bean counter doesn't like the promise, just cancel it without notifying those affected, neither the company representative nor the customer. And if a warehouse of the company that the replacement order is being shipped to feels they don't have enough inventory to cover the order, they simply cancel the order as well, again without notifying anyone. Etc. etc. As I said, in the end I won, I got replacement containers as I wanted. In the process, Rubbermaid has gone from their happiest, most loyal customer to their happiest, most rabid critic. So for this horribly defective Rubbermaid food container, backed by the company's extremely poor customer service, I'll only give it 1 star, as low as possible.
