Review on πŸš— Valentine V1 Radar Detectors Mirror Mount Bracket - Radar Mount (3001004) by Marcel Robinson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great mount but not perfect

RadarMount (Las Vegas, Nevada) for Valentine1 Gen2 is a good mechanism to mount this particular radar detector. This setup was installed on a 2006 Honda S2000 Type S. V1 Gen 2 represents the most advanced technology with long range, sensitivity and filtering capabilities. Unfortunately, it doesn't have GPS capability. RadarMount holds the V1 Gen 2 securely in place and has enough degrees of freedom to position it perfectly under the rearview mirror. The materials (like the adjustable clasp, retaining clip, and clasps) are of high quality, so you don't have to be afraid to take anything off. The packaging is superb and the included instructions are well written - no agrammatical notes or blurry images common with many similar products made in China! The price is a bit steep in my opinion considering that a couple of screws, a few small pieces of metal and plastic thumbscrews shouldn't cost around $35, but for the overall build quality you could spend more for an excellent product. . I recommend RadarMount for the V1 Gen 2 as it's so much better than unreliable suction cup mounts that loosen over time, sun visor clips that often can't be optimally positioned, and dash mounted systems that mess up the car and often are blocked by the windshield. Block wipers from detecting weak signals. However, please note that the included stand or mounting clip is for the Valentine1 and will NOT fit the V1 Gen 2. Instead, you must use the retaining clip that comes with the V1 Gen 2. This isn't listed in the instructions, but it's noted if you look at the Questions and Answers section. This will also limit the usability of the V1 Gen 2 in multiple vehicles. A V1 Gen 2 specific clip should be included, offered as a free upgrade, or sold at a slightly discounted price and therefore lower the overall rating.
