I bought these socks for a group celebrating Thanksgiving together. I bought men's size 10-13 to fit the tallest member of our group. The larger size was great for women with smaller feet as they don't have a specific heel as they are tubular socks. The orange color is light but not too light. The socks are soft and appear to be quite durable. The leg area has a softer underfoot area for more comfort. The socks were knee-deep on both women and almost knee-deep on the man in our group, but slipped a little on him when he started to walk. We girls didn't have that problem. I can not see, that they work with shin guards underneath unless the woman wears men's size. But for the price they were perfect for our needs.
