Review on Photo camera Canon PowerShot SX240 HS, black by Aneta Sawicka ᠌

Good quality product, the price is commensurate with the quality.

Despite the claims to the device listed above, I still consider the choice and purchase of this camera successful. Why? Because everything is relative. Before that, my sister had (and is) the older brother of this camera - the Canon PowerShot SX220 HS, which I myself bought (and often used). In theory, you might think, the quality of the pictures and the overall impression of the devices should be almost identical (I don't take into account the difference in the maximum zoom). So it is 90 percent, but there are still differences: on the 220th, the sharpness is uniform across the entire width of the frame, and in this (240th), as I recalled above, the sharpness is not enough on the left side. But! Either because of the good contrast of the camera, or it is sharper in itself, but in the central part of the frame the sharpness suits me more than completely, it is better than in the 220th, which is also noticeable at the maximum (20x) zoom. Well, as I said, the contrast in this is an order of magnitude better (after the 220th, I often added contrast on the computer). Also, zooming in this is faster than in the 220th (it didn’t seem - there is probably a different mechanism, you can even hear the difference in sounds when the lens moves out). For both models, I will add that perhaps the difference in the quality of the pictures is not related to the model range, but to specific instances of the devices. Also, before buying this device, I fell for Casio's marketing ploy, having bought the EX-ZS200 due to the lower price by $ 50 and as much as 24x zoom (believe me, you will hardly notice the difference between 20x and 24x). In general, I can lose the Casio device for a long time, but I will say briefly: as soon as I started looking at the first pictures I took on the computer, in the same seconds I remembered with a kind word the Canon PowerShot SX220 HS I had checked, after which Casio returned it in the next few days and, so as the 220th was already discontinued, I purchased the SX240 we are considering. With the model, I think I was not mistaken.

Pros
  • Multifunctional camera with most modern features. Pretty good photo quality (although not absolutely perfect), good optical zoom (with a larger one, most likely, the pictures will be less likely to be clear), good contrast of photographs, quite smart, a lot of useful and not very settings.
Cons
  • On the left side of the image (almost normal on the right) in the photographs there is a slight, but clearly noticeable to the eye, blurring, which, although it does not spoil the overall impression of the picture, is still noticeable, plus it interferes with the quality of mounted panoramas, which I really like to do. I also don't like the way the image flickers while shooting video (or with a large zoom), i. E. stabilization is powerless here. A strong wind creates noise in the video (although I do not exclude that this is a property of all cameras). The noise from zooming in the video, although audible, is not frustrating, after all, this is not a professional camera, and the noise is not that strong. I do not like that a memory card cannot be used normally to transfer non-native fotik information. That is, by connecting the camera to a computer, you will not be able to copy anything to the card. Accordingly, if the card has some files that are foreign to the camera, you will not see them when connected to a computer. I am not happy that the screen has a 4:3 aspect ratio, and I usually shoot 16:9 (based on the future purchase of the same aspect ratio full hd TV that I will connect to the computer).
