We have been feeding our dogs only Blue Buffalo Freedom for about five years. We started this after reading that grains can cause seizures in dogs and saw a significant reduction in occasional seizures in one of our dogs. Our dog Stuart has had occasional seizures for years. The vets reassured us that the rarity and low severity of the seizures meant we needn't have worried, but they disappointed Stew and us. Some Googling turned up various causes of seizures, including grains. I thought it was a little crazy, but not so much that we didn't want to at least try a grain-free diet. Stu hasn't had a seizure since we started this case. Our experience is of course purely anecdotal and lacks any scientific rigor, but it was enough to convince us to go ahead. Our boys are 10 and 9 now and have been eating this for years. They have puppy energy, shiny coats, strong bones, clear eyes, and will come running when it's time for dinner. Stew has a tendency to spit out "chunks of life". I don't think he cares about his health as much as we do!
