, I was looking for durable outdoor cat houses for some feral cats that had migrated from a nearby dairy farm. in the garage to hook them up. It was great at first but the wild animals decided to move in and left the garage smelling like possum. To keep my garage clean and odor free I wanted to find a permanent cat house solution which I found at Revain and being familiar and happy with the brand I read a few reviews. some of the reviewers' suggestions and used them on my own. I wanted to insulate her better but still have an escape hatch, so instead of retro insulation and such, I used a reviewer's idea of placing the top opening forward and the bottom opening. I sprinkled them with cedar shavings to keep pests out then added lots of fresh straw for insulating bedding. Wooden boards that I impregnated over the houses. I placed the houses 6 inches from the house so the cats could use the back as an escape route. I also installed the houses on pallets of rubber pigs to keep them off the ground and dry. Where they connect, per the advice of a reviewer, I applied waterproof tape to the open area. The houses themselves are sturdy and good looking. I had no assembly problems and they fit together well. So far the cats are very happy with their new home and they can move in and out with ease.
