Review on πŸ‘£ Enhance Your Reach and Convenience with Buyers Products - FS2797CH Large Folding Step by Corey Singh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very large heavy step for my heavy F350

I used it to build a second high step on my F350's 8ft platform. I installed it 5 inches behind the fuel door. I cut the gray Trex decking boards available from Lowes to reinforce the slab. I made a U-bolt with Trex and 4 7/16 wide screws to fit very snugly between the steel paneling of the truck body and the door panel, then I inserted stainless steel screws to attach them to the side of the bed. I then made a paper template with trimmed edges for the fold step's screw holes and drilled a very small pilot hole to ensure it was in the correct place on the edge. Then I gradually increased the size of the drill bits and enlarged the holes in the door panel to a 5/16 size. This step was important because if the holes are not very accurate you will have trouble threading the screw. I then inserted four 8" 5/16" zinc plated carriage bolts through the folding step after gluing on the soft washer. As the bolt went through the Trex U-Bracket I added zinc plated washers and bolts and two 3/8 hole flat steel reinforcement plates which I drilled to further strengthen the brace. I cut off about 1 1/2" of the bolts before attaching an acorn nut to each in the truck bed. I also had to purchase a 5/16" long metal drill bit. After tightening all the bolts, the stand can support my 180-pound weight without the truck's outer wall flexing. Attached is a photo of the installation.
