While this particular electric blanket has a preset 200 degree thermostat making it ideal for heating buckets of wax and soap, I have actually used it to warm the buckets of paint which we are now taking straight outside , while we remodel. I don't leave the blanket on long enough to heat the paint to 200, but leave the heater on it just long enough to dilute the paint to a usable state. It's cold outside now, and when we bring buckets of paint, it's so thick that it takes a few hours to use it. But when I wrap the Powerblanket around each bucket, with a little stirring, it heats up in under half an hour. Works perfectly!
