It gets five stars because it's a good product. But there are no instructions. You can understand most things, but maybe not all. For example, I could see that there is a part that allows you to attach your phone to the shaft. But why I needed it was not clear. Luckily there was a video on the product page and I could see that the stock mount allows you to use your phone as a monitor provided it can display what your camera is seeing. Without seeing this I would have no idea and the full usefulness of the product would remain a mystery. It's solid with good twist locks for shaft extensions. It reaches a solid length, and if you unscrew the wrist strap, you can attach the selfie stick's base to a tripod. That means you can carry around a small tabletop tripod that doubles as a selfie stick leg for when you need to increase the distance between you and the camera.
