The description includes the word 'glass' but the jar is all stainless steel (inside and out) and the lids are plastic with a rubber gasket (seal) and a handy valve to close/open the sipper. The lid protects drinks from spilling. Good ratings are not exaggerated. We froze a few drinks then put them on the counter to thaw and forgot about them.
